Simeon Brown wins the Paul J. Meyer Leadership in Business Scholarship

The Paul J. Meyer Christian Leadership in Business Scholarship is awarded to a student who integrates his/her faith into leadership opportunities in business. Junior Simeon Brown of St. Louis, MO, a Professional Selling major was this year’s recipient.

Supported by the Paul J. Meyer Christian Leadership in Business Endowment, the award provides a $1,000 scholarship for each of the next two semesters. Along with academic and extracurricular requirements, each applicant is asked to describe how his/her Christian faith has been relevant in life and leadership. Applications include two recommendation letters, one from a faculty or staff member and the other from a spiritual mentor.

“I asked my pastor from home, Mr. Pratt to write my spiritual mentor recommendation,” said Brown. “It is great to have someone how has seen me develop not only my faith but also myself as a leader.”

Brown strives for excellence in all of his business situations, and says that honoring his fellow team members comes naturally as he works to honor God on a daily basis. He shared this thought on being recognized:

“I’m really excited to impact others by using business as a ministry. Now I have a network of like-minded individuals for the rest of my career through this recognition.”
