Selling to the United Nations
Last week, a number of Baylor students traveled to Chicago, IL to join over 1,000 other students from across the country for the American Model United Nations Conference.
Junior Professional Selling major, Tyler Kopas, was one of the students representing Baylor at the conference and was part of the general assembly third committee that worked primarily with human rights issues. Tyler and his teammate Beth Hooper were awarded an “Outstanding Delegation” designation for their work with their committee, the highest award given at Model UN conferences.
“The sales courses and experiences I have gone through within the ProSales program go hand in hand with model United Nations,” remarked Kopas. “The practice with listening, handling objections, and most importantly doing proper prep and planning are skills that translate into success in both worlds.”
For the overall conference, the Baylor team served as delegates from Iceland focusing on issues such as violence against women, land mines, food security and access to clean drinking water.
