The weekend before Thanksgiving is usually filled with activities that involve traveling home, buying food and getting excited about seeing loved ones. Every so often we have that weekend free and did it ever pay off for Professional Selling majors Colby Mann, James Paulsen, Eric Prevatte and Blaze Wrobleske.

The Baylor Top Shot Clay Competition began this year to raise business school scholarship monies, and a team of students was invited to join. Mann, Paulsen, Prevatte and Wrobleske were the first to respond to the e-mail and formed the student team. The day began with lunch at 1 pm and an afternoon flight. The team of Mann, Paulsen, Prevatte and Wrobleske placed in the top-3 in its flight and proceeded to the Top Shot round.

“I am very happy we were able to field a student team and even though they came in second, they are number one in my book!” remarked Dr. Kevin Ludlum, Executive Director of Development who organized the event.

At the end of the day, the competition saw the team of students taking 2nd overall out of 20 teams in the competition and boasting the overall winner, James Paulsen.

“The Top Shot Clay Competition was a great way to connect Baylor alumni to students. I was able to meet past bears while competing in a fun environment,” said Paulsen. “The prizes we won along with the experience and opportunity made this an event I will not forget. I encourage other students to find a sponsor and compete next year.”
