Description: This session focuses on a comprehensive and integrated approach to understanding the “polyphony” (rarely considered, multifaceted dimensions) of hymnody and how this approach can enhance the study and singing of hymns. This session is an update of a paper presented at the International Conference of Hymn Societies at the University of Cambridge in 2015.
