10/20/2015 Academic Technology Directors Meeting – Public Notes

1. EMAIL: Students accounts will soon start to migrate to the Microsoft Cloud service; faculty and staff accounts are expected to migrate next summer. This should be seamless with users not noticing the difference, except the 50GB mailbox size – a huge increase.
2. CANVAS CATALOG: A site being created to offer self-paced online instruction.
3. HPC CLOUD: The Academic and Research Computing Services group is pilot testing high performance computing jobs in the cloud using Amazon Web Services. Four researchers are participating in the pilot which runs through January. 
4. LYNDA.COM: A campus license will soon be available.
