Our Research

Current lab studies are focused on: 1) parenting knowledge in parents of infants, 2) social media, parenting, and parent mental health, 3) emotion regulation in first time parents, 4) perinatal substance use and parenting behavior, 5) factors associated with increased or decreased risk for psychopathology following adverse childhood experiences, and 6) measurement of related constructs.

We use multiple research methods, including interviews and questionnaires, observation of parent-child behavior, and cognitive tasks, as well as EEG/ERP to understand parents’ neural response to parenting-related cues.
