Lab Values

Our lab works together collaboratively, and we value diverse perspectives and backgrounds. Whether it comes to the individuals who work together in our lab, or the participants who join our research studies, we aim to be a welcome and inclusive setting that respects diversity across all forms, including race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, sexuality, age, training level, and disability.

Some ways we try to carry out these values include: 1) recruiting widely so that our research participants reflect the diversity of the surrounding community, 2) striving to make our research more accessible for participants (e.g. downtown research building, free parking, adequate research compensation, flexible visit times, childcare provided), 3) welcoming applications from prospective undergraduate and graduate students who share these values related to diversity, equity, and inclusivity, and 4) supporting applications for students interested in Baylor research experience programs such as McNair Scholars or B-TRUE Fellows.
