Teaching

My teaching interests are Economics, International Business, and Latin America.

Currently, I am teaching International Economics (ECO 3331), Business in the Global Economy (INB 3332) for undergraduates, and Problem Areas in International Economics (ECO 5330) for graduate students. I have also taught Advanced International Trade (second course in the Trade field) for doctoral students in the past.

In the summer of 2021 I will offer a brand new course: ECO 3390/INB 3v98: European Union and Brexit. Here you can find more information about the courses I will teach in the 2021 edition of the Baylor in Great Britain summer study abroad program.

Other undergraduate courses I have taught in the past are Principles in Economics, Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics, Intermediate Microeconomics, Intermediate Macroeconomics, International Trade, and Latin American Economic Development.

In the May Minimester, I usually teach  an online section of ECO 1305 Issues in Economics for Non-Business Majors. Here is some additional information about ECO 1305.

This a brand new course designed to use motion pictures—like “It’s a Wonderful World”—as the primary learning tool of economic concepts. Most important, you can take this course on-line at the your home, on campus, or even away while you are doing a part-time internship.

So, do you like to watch movies? Need to learn basic economics? Want to take Summer on-line courses at Baylor?

If you answered yes, then the ECO 1305 section taught by Prof. Paz is the right choice for you!

ECO 1305 fulfills the Contemporary Social Issues requirement of the Arts & Sciences core, and many Business minors require it.

The May Minimester is the right timing for taking this course because ECO 1305 is a prerequisite for several other courses. And you could take those other courses later in the the Summer 1 or 2 sessions.
