Ken Paulson hosted Speaking Freely, a TV show from the early 2000s that focused on the relationships of the arts in society. I found this gem on YouTube where he interviews the authors along with John Cullum (previously in 1776).
I was very inspired by their take on the form and content of Urinetown. While creating the show, they held together their love for Musical Theatre and their disdain for the commercial output of the industry. This entanglement of feelings propelled them to create a unique piece of theatre.
