Dr. Pankaj Jain is currently editing the Hinduism section for the Encyclopedia of Indian Religions (Springer) and Indian and Western Philosophical Concepts in Religion (Bloomsbury). He is also writing a book on the history of Jains and Hindus in the Americas. His two published books are Science and Socio-Religious Revolution in India: Moving the Mountains (2017) and Dharma and Ecology of Hindu Communities: Sustenance and Sustainability (2011). He is Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy and Religion at the University of North Texas where he teaches courses on religions, cultures, ecologies, and films of India and Asia. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa and an M.A. from Columbia University (both in Religious Studies). In his “previous life” he had also earned a B.S. in Computer Science from India. Dr. Jain is widely consulted by various media and is interview and/or quoted for various news reports in BBC, Dallas Morning News, NBC, Fox News, LA Times, National Geographic Channel, The History Channel, Slate, Swarajya, Times of India, Indian Express, The Hindu, Dainik Bhaskar, and India Abroad.
