Description: Interestingly, that the Word which John speaks is Christ Jesus, Himself. And when we sing, it is the in words of our songs that He chooses to not only touch our hearts but also inhabit our praises. Emphasis upon text cannot be overstated with choral musicians ? especially church choral musicians. Not only does a choir achieve blend and good intonation through the vowel sounds, it is through these same vocal sounds that we understand the import of the text ? from the lips of God himself the text, enwrapped in melody reaches the ear (and heart) of both listener and singer. This session will focus upon the development of techniques for improving choral diction in church choirs of all ages.
