Self-Administered Hypnosis Treatment for the Management of Hot Flashes in Women: A Randomized Clinical Trial
This is a 5 year National Institutes of Health funded (R01) study in collaboration with investigators at University of Michigan School of Nursing and University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The aims of the study are to determine the efficacy of self-administered hypnosis on menopausal symptoms, sleep, and anxiety.
This free clinical study strives to see if a self-administered hypnosis program is helpful for reducing hot flashes in postmenopausal women who experience them. The study is 13-weeks long and is completed solely in your home. There will be two video or telephone visits with a member of the Mind-Body Medicine Research Lab, and the hypnosis program is delivered using written instructions and audio recordings at home. You can earn up to $125 upon completion of the study requirements.

Effect of Music and Other Audio Recordings for Chronic Pain in Aging Adults: A Randomized Controlled Study
This is a 2 year study through the National Endowment for the Arts. Chronic pain is a significant health care concern and is especially prevalent in aging adults. It can greatly disrupt one’s quality of life, resulting in the inability to complete common tasks associated with daily living. Medications for pain management can have unwanted side effects and alternatives to pharamacology for pain management are needed. The purpose of this study is to find out whether music or other audio recordings are effective for better management of chronic lower back pain in adults 50 years or older.
This is a free clinical study at Baylor University of a mind-body intervention utilizing audio recordings for chronic lower back pain and sleep. The study is four weeks long and is completed solely in the comfort of your home through virtual visits. You can earn up to $175 upon completion of the study requirements.

Feasibility of Self-Administered Hypnosis for Sleep Quality in Caregivers of Individuals with Alzheimer's Disease
This is a 1 year study through the National Institute of Health. Caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias experience significantly shorter sleep duration and poorer-quality sleep than age-matched, non-caregiver adults. The resulting decrease in sleep quality can have detrimental effects on the individual’s own health and well-being. Due to the discouragement of the use of sedative-hypnotic medications by caregivers, there is a critical need to identify safe, effective, non-pharmacological interventions to improve sleep in the millions of individuals caring for individuals with Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias. The purpose of the study is to determine the feasibility of a self-administered hypnosis program among caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias.
This is a free clinical study at Baylor University of a mind-body intervention for sleep. You must be an active caregiver to an individual with Alzheimer’s disease or its related dementias. The study is seven weeks long and is completed solely in the comfort of your home through virtual visits. You can earn up to $200 upon completion of the study requirements.
