Alexandra Tyra named Solid Gold Neighbor Research Fellow

Graduate student, Alexandra (Alex) Tyra, was recently awarded a Solid Gold Neighbor Research Fellowship! This new initiative partners Baylor University graduate students with Waco-based non-profit organizations. Fellows and organizations work together using a Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) approach. Alex will receive training in CBPR as part of her fellowship. She will work with The Cove, a nurturing drop-in center for high school youth who are experiencing homelessness, to collect self-sufficiency outcomes data for post-graduation youth who utilized The Cove. Alex is already a familiar face at The Cove through her work with the Baylor Behavioral Medicine Laboratory’s High-Intensity Interval Training workouts. We are excited to see the outcomes of her work as a Solid Gold Neighbor Research Fellow. Congratulations, Alex!
